MARY ANNE O’MALLEY
I live in the space between the scientific replication of botanicals and the artistic beauty of the natural environment. This has become my home.
Mary Anne has always strived to express the beauty of the natural world through her art. An early childhood spent on her grandparent’s farm in eastern Wisconsin helped ingrain a life-long appeal to the changing seasons and their perennial offerings. It is within this simple, everyday evolution of life that she finds inspiration.
After receiving a B.F.A. in Art from St. Dominic’s College, St. Charles, Ill. Mary Anne focused her attention on landscape, portrait and still life in oil and graphite within the Atelier system. During this time, she cultivated a distinctive skill set in topographical and landscape fabrication for museums and visitor centers around the country, which furthered her interest and knowledge of the natural environment.
She currently teaches at The Minnesota School of Botanical Art.
